Tottenham were mauled at Manchester City today, and one of the former players of the victors did not hold back.
Andre Villas-Boas described it as an embarrassing team performance, and really there is no arguing with him.
Tottenham Hotspur lost 6-0 away at a Manchester City side who came into the weekend one place below them in the Premier League table.
Their performance sparked a quite astounding rant from QPR midfielder Joey Barton, who lambasted players signed by AVB this summer as ‘average.’

His last point, criticising the Lamela deal is certainly wide of the mark. If anybody knew what the Argentine is capable of, it would be Baldini – having worked with him at close quarters last season. To compare it to a Manchester City deal made in 2010 is also a bit of a crude comparison.
It’s good to see he isn’t short of self-confidence, but we are pretty sure Spurs fans wouldn’t swap any of their new signings for him instead, right?
