Rangers are due to meet Celtic at Hampden Park this afternoon in the semi-final of the Scottish League Cup.
Barton will not feature in the match, as his future at Rangers remains firmly in doubt following a training ground argument last month.
Barton has not been training with Rangers in recent weeks, but he has offered his teammates a good luck message ahead of the Old-Firm derby.
Rangers go into the match against Celtic as heavy outsiders, after they were heavily beaten when the two sides met earlier in the season.
