Joey Barton has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 23rd October, that Everton defenders Leighton Baines and Ashley Williams look ‘all over the shop’.

Baines and Williams have previously proven themselves in the Premier League, and have enjoyed productive careers at the top level.

However, the ageing duo have badly struggled so far this season, and it seems that they are now past their best.

Baines and Williams have been two of Everton’s worst performers over what has been an awful period for the Merseyside club.

Everton were beaten 5-2 by Arsenal at Goodison Park yesterday, and Barton slated the performance of Williams and Baines during the contest.

“You look at the likes of Baines, he’s all over the shop. Ashley Williams, all over the shop,” Barton said.

Everton’s performance against Arsenal set alarm bells ringing, as it continued their poor run of form.

The Toffees have failed to win any of their last five matches across all competitions, and currently sit in the relegation zone in the Premier League.

Everton are next in action in midweek, when they take on Chelsea in the League Cup.
