Everton boss Sam Allardyce has won his first match in charge of the Goodison Park club.

Barton believes that Allardyce could get the very best out of Everton’s struggling squad members, as his tactics could suit them.
Everton have struggled badly, with the advancing age of some of their key players coming into question.
However, Barton feels that Allardyce will be able to turn Everton’s players’ form around.

He said: “Straight away I thought the experienced players, the Rooneys, Baineses, Williamses and Jagielkas must have got a bit more confidence and thought that if there’s anything left in the tank, Sam will get it out of us.”
Allardyce has already made an impact at Everton, with the Toffees winning his first match in charge.
Everton beat Huddersfield Town 2-0 at the weekend, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Gylfi Sigurdsson getting on the scoresheet.

The Toffees are now in the top half of the Premier League table, with concerns over relegation beginning to ease.
Everton are next in action on Thursday evening in the Europa League, when they take on Apollon Limassol, before their attention will turn to the Merseyside derby against Liverpool at the weekend.
