Could Ross Barkley leave Everton for Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window?

Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri told Sky Sports that the Toffees had agreed a £35 million deal with Premier League rivals Chelsea over the transfer of Barkley on deadline day.
Moshiri added that at the medical on transfer deadline day, the agent of the 23-year-old informed the club that the attacking midfielder had changed his mind.
Former Newcastle United and Manchester City midfielder Barton has suggested that Barkley should have made the switch from Everton to defending Premier League champions Chelsea.
Barton has also predicted the England international attacking midfielder to leave Everton in the January transfer window.

“I’m scratching my head,” Barton told talkSPORT about Barkley’s decision to snub Chelsea. “It is clear he is not part of Ronald Koeman’s plans at Everton. It was a great opportunity for him, I thought.
“How does it happen? That doesn’t usually happen in the modern era, certainly with the amount of money that is bandied about.
“It is a bit embarrassing I think for whoever is behind it. I know his agent, so I’m not going to name him, but it is a bit worrying how that never got over the line.”
“You will probably see him move in January,” added Barton about Barkley. “He is injured at the minute and there are rumours it could be a couple of weeks and other rumours it could be October/November.
“If you are haggling over wages or length of contract you are always better to do it when fully fit. And sides are smart – they know that transfer will change between now and January because of his contract situation.”

According to The Times, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea will make moves for Barkley in the January transfer window.
As things stand, the 23-year-old’s current contract with Everton runs out at the end of the season.
Earlier today, Barkley explained on social networking site Twitter why he stayed at Everton, stating that due to his current injury, he wants to wait until January to make a decision on his future.
