Leeds proposed a new club crest on Wednesday afternoon, but it did not go down well with supporters.

Joey Barton has applauded Leeds’ decision to rethink their new club crest after the board’s proposal of a new emblem was ridiculed by the footballing world on Wednesday afternoon.
Owner Andrea Radrizzani and the Leeds board had planned to change the badge with Leeds reaching 100 years as a football club next year, after first being founded in 1919.
Leeds announced their plans to change their badge on Twitter, stating that they has consulted 10,000 people and done six months of research. However, they had not foreseen the reaction as they received a barrage of complaints.
But the Whites decided to listen to fans’ comments to the badge and on Thursday released a club statement on their official website in which stated that they would reconsider. Former England midfielder Barton says it is “good to see”.
Fans have drawn comparisons with the badge to famous console game Pro Evolution Soccer, while a petition was drawn up in order to prevent the board’s implementation of the newly-designed logo.
On the pitch, Leeds are not having much luck either with four losses and three red cards in their last five games. They lost 4-3 to Millwall last time out, conceding twice in the final five minutes.
Thomas Christiansen will be looking to ease some of the pressure on his side next time out on Tuesday night against Hull City at the KCOM Stadium.
