Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli scored for England against Lithuania in the 2018 World Cup qualifier on Sunday.

Former Rangers and Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton has defended Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli on social networking site Twitter.
Alli featured for England in their final 2018 World Cup qualifier against Lithuania away from home on Sunday evening.
Tottenham striker Harry Kane scored the only goal of the match in the 27th minute from the penalty spot.
Spurs midfielder Alli, 21, earned the spot kick in Vilnius, but he was criticised for going down too easily by former Queens Park Rangers and West Ham United winger Trevor Sinclair, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport.
Former Rangers and QPR midfielder Barton has defended Alli on Twitter, stating that it was smart play from the Spurs star.

Alli is one of the best young midfielders in Europe, but the Spurs star’s form so far this season has not been great.
The goal that the former Milton Keynes Dons star scored for England against Lithuania on Sunday evening could be beneficial for his confidence.
