Manchester United have been linked with Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose.
Rose was left out of Tottenham’s matchday squad for the Premier League match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last Saturday afternoon.
The left-back made his comeback from a long-term injury against Real Madrid in the Champions League last month.
The 27-year-old defender also played for England against Germany and Brazil during the recent international break.
Tottenham manager Pochettino subsequently suggested to Sky Sports that he left Rose out of the squad against Arsenal for fitness reasons.
According to The Sun, Tottenham defender Rose is not happy at being left out of the North London derby against Arsenal.
The British tabloid has also claimed that Manchester United are keen on signing the former Leeds United prospect.
Former Rangers and Newcastle midfielder Barton believes that Rose is on borrowed time, while Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle wants the North London club to keep hold of the defender.
“I think Danny Rose seems on borrowed time a little bit,” said Barton about Rose on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Monday morning (08:52am, November 20, 2017).
“Pochettino doesn’t like anybody who steps out of the team framework, rightly or wrongly, and Ben Davies has gone in and done fantastically well. He also has got the option of playing Aurier or Trippier at left-back.”
“I think Danny Rose, if they can keep him, they have go to try and keep him,” Hoddle told BT Sport Facebook live last Saturday afternoon (November 18, 2017).
“He is a better player than Davies, and going forward, if they want to keep playing three at the back and wing-backs, he will end up playing for England that way. So for me, they have got to keep him.”
