Everton should consider a summer swoop for the Ajax ace.

According to a report from the Liverpool Echo, Everton are on the hunt for a new right-back, as they look to upgrade on the ageing Seamus Coleman.

And with this in mind, the Toffees should consider a move for Ajax ace Joël Veltman.

The 27-year-old is an incredibly solid right-back. He is defensively sound, but is also proficient when bombing forward and contributing in an attacking sense.

Veltman returned from a long spell on the sidelines this season, so he only made 14 appearances for Ajax, but he now seems to be back to his best, and he would be an excellent addition for Everton.

With 19 international caps for Holland to his name, the Ajax man is vastly experienced in playing at the very highest level, and he would be a real upgrade on Coleman.

Veltman was valued at around £10 million two years ago, according to the London Evening Standard, and with just one year remaining on his current deal with the Eredivisie outfit, he will likely not be worth any more than that now.

In today’s day and age, that would represent excellent value for money for Everton, and Marco Silva must do all he can to bring Veltman to Goodison Park this summer.
