Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told the club’s official website that the injury that Joel Matip suffered against Watford at Anfield is not serious.
Klopp’s Liverpool got the better of Watford 2-0 at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday.
Centre-back Matip started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes.
The Liverpool star suffered an injury, which Klopp says is not serious, adding what Matip himself has told him.
Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool’s Joel Matip
Klopp told Liverpool’s official website: “Joel Matip had a proper [knock], it looked like a golf ball here [on his head] but it was nothing serious, it was just a bruise and had swollen up a little bit. He said he was completely fine, that’s why we had the strapping there. That’s it, I’m pretty sure.”

Positive news
In our opinion, Matip’s injury not being serious is a huge positive for Liverpool, as they aim to win the Premier League, the Champions League and the FA Cup this season.
Liverpool also have won the Carabao Cup.
The Reds will face Benfica, Manchester City, Manchester United, Everton and Newcastle United in their upcoming games.
Klopp will surely not want any of his players to get injured now, especially someone as important as Matip.
The 30-year-old has scored one goal and provided two assists in 24 Premier League matches for Liverpool so far this season.
The Liverpool no. 32 has also played six times in the Champions League and featured in four Carabao Cup ties this campaign.
