Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to a stat involving defender Joel Matip and Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
What’s the story?
Tottenham striker Kane is not having a good season and is struggling in front of goal.
The England international has not scored in four Premier League appearances so far this season.
And now a stat has emerged that is really damning.
As you can see below, Liverpool central defender Matip has had more touches than Tottenham striker Kane in the opposition penalty box.
Former Liverpool midfielder Don Hutchison said about the stat on BBC Radio 5 Live (7:37pm, September 20, 2021): “I have seen another stat today which is quite alarming.
“Joel Matip has had more touches in the opposition box than Harry Kane. That has absolutely stunned me.”
What are Liverpool fans saying?
As you can see from the tweets below, Liverpool fans are loving the stat involving Matip and Kane.
Well, some of them anyway.

Some Liverpool fans are laughing at Spurs head coach Nuno for playing Kane more in midfield than as a striker.
One Liverpool supporter has even joked that Manchester City could now make a bid of £100 million for Matip to play him as a striker.
City wanted to sign Kane from Tottenham in the summer transfer window and made a bid of £100 million for the 28-year-old striker, as reported by Sky Sports in June 2021.
The defending Premier League champions did not bring in a new striker despite letting Sergio Aguero leave.
