The Liverpool captain has been in fine form at the beginning of the season.

Liverpool defender Joel Matip has lavished praised on Jordan Henderson, telling the club’s official website he is a great person and a great leader.
The midfielder has shone at the beginning of the season, playing a key role in the Reds’ strong start.
The international break saw him captaining England when Wayne Rooney was dropped for the game against Slovenia.

It was another big moment for Henderson, who is already captain at Anfield after replacing Steven Gerrard in the role.
The plaudits have been plentiful and Matip has now added his opinion during an interview with the club’s official website.
“He’s the leader,” Matip said. “From the first day, he came up to me and [asked] if I needed something. He’s a great player on the field but also off the field.
“You always want to keep the team together because you know as a team you can achieve something. He is a great person and a great player.”

This season has seen Henderson deployed in a more defensive role and he has become Jurgen Klopp’s go-to defensive midfielder.
It is a change that has seen him flourish, with his defensive nous allowing the likes of Georginio Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana to excel alongside him.
His dominance is shown in the stats as only Danny Drinkwater has managed more touches than the Reds captain so far, while he actually leads the passing charts.
Matip sees all of the work that his captain does from the center of the Liverpool defense and says that sometimes he thinks Henderson is everywhere.
“He does a very good job. He always has the ball and sometimes [on the pitch] I think he is everywhere!” he added.
“That’s always good, especially for the centre-backs like me because you always know he is there and he will help you. You can always play [the ball] to him and he gives the team a lot of strength and calm.”
