Glasgow Rangers loanee Joe Worrall has admitted that he has not been entirely happy with his form since he moved to Ibrox.
Everything seems to be going well for Steven Gerrard’s side currently. They went into the winter break off the back of a stunning win over Celtic and have put their rivals on alert with some brilliant business in the January transfer window.
One area that Gerrard is yet to strengthen this month is at centre-back. And after Worrall’s superb performance in the Old Firm win, it would probably be a surprise if he did sign any more rivals for his position this month.
The Nottingham Forest-owned ace put in his best display since arriving in the summer. It has not been the easiest start to life at Ibrox for the youngster, but – after conceding that his form has not always been at the level that he would like – he suggested that he is enjoying himself in Glasgow and is expecting to get better.
“Yeah it was good,” he told Rangers’ official website when asked about the first-half of the season. “I had a few wobbles along the way and I didn’t play great in a couple of games but I back myself just to get my head down and crack on.
“I’m really enjoying it, the lads are great and the manager and the coaching staff are helping me and coaching me along.
“I think it’s good and I can only get better as a player and as a person as well and trying to help other people. So I’m loving it at Rangers.”
Gerrard has a lot of talent at the heart of his defence. Connor Goldson has been the mainstay of the side, while Worrall has been rotated along with Gareth McAuley and Nikola Katic.
Although the manager has previously struggled to settle on a pairing, the 1-0 win at Ibrox hinted that Worrall and Goldson have the potential to be the partnership that gives Rangers the best chance of building on their current momentum once the season resumes.
