Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers brought Joe Worrall to Ibrox on loan from Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window.
Rangers defender Joe Worrall
Worrall, who joined Rangers on loan from Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window, made the comments following the Gers’ 2-2 draw with Villarreal away from home at El Madrigal in Europa League Group G on Thursday evening.
The 21-year-old defender started the match for Rangers in Spain and played for the entire 90 minutes, as it ended in a 2-2 draw.
It was the youngster’s debut for Rangers following his loan move from Forest in the Championship in England, and the defender has made it clear that he wants to play regularly for the Gers, and have a warning for his teammates and fellow defenders Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic.
Worrall told The Scottish Sun: “Connor and Nikola have done really well but I haven’t come to Rangers to sit and say, ‘Oh, they’ve done really well so keep playing them’.
“I want to play and it’s as simple as that. Whether it’s with Connor or Nik I don’t really care – I just want to get in the team. Selfishly, I’m here to play minutes. I’m not here to praise them.”

Determined
Both Goldson and Katic – like Worrall – joined Rangers in the summer transfer window and have established themselves at the heart of the Gers’ backline.
Worrall’s performance on Thursday evening, though, was very encouraging, and his aforementioned comments outline just how determined he is play regularly for the Gers.
