Joe Willock seems sad at Newcastle United’s £23m transfer call

Joe Willock is among the players who have sent messages to Allan Saint-Maximin after the winger left Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.

As you can see from the post below, Newcastle United midfielder Joe Willock seems sad that Allan Saint-Maximin is leaving the club.

Newcastle have announced on their official website that Saint-Maximin has joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli.

According to Sky Sports, Al-Ahli have paid the Magpies £23 million in transfer fees for the French winger.

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) run Al-Ahli, according to Sky Sports.

PIF also own Premier League club Newcastle.

Saint-Maximin did not always play consistently well for Newcastle, but he did turn on the style on many occasions and was a joy to watch when he was in top four.

During his time at Newcastle, the 26-year-old made 124 appearances.

Saint-Maximin scored 13 goals and gave 21 assists in those matches.

The winger made 12 starts and 13 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Eddie Howe’s side last season.

Saint-Maximin scored one goal and gave five assists in those matches.

The Frenchman made 111 appearances in the Premier League for Newcastle.

Saint-Maximin scored 12 goals and gave 18 assists in those matches.

Newcastle finished in the top four of the Premier League table last season and will play in the UEFA Champions League this coming campaign.

The Magpies will be determined to finish in the top four of the Premier League table next season as well.
