Some Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the situation that Joe Willock now finds himself in at Newcastle United.
What’s the story?
As announced on Newcastle’s official website yesterday, an investment group led by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and also comprising PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports & Media, has competed the takeover of Newcastle.
The long-running takeover was finalised quite suddenly and the story moved quickly.
In a matter of days.
Willock spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle from Arsenal.
The 22-year-old midfielder scored eight goals in 11 Premier League starts for the Magpie during his loan spell.
The Englishman played a key role in Newcastle staving off the dreaded drop to the Championship.
Newcastle made Willock’s loan deal permanent in the summer of 2021 after Arsenal Technical Director Edu and manager Mikel Arteta decided to sell him.
As reported by Sky Sports, Newcastle paid Arsenal £25 million in transfer fee for Willock.

What are Arsenal fans saying?
As you can see from the tweets below, Arsenal fans have been having their say on Willock’s situation.
Some think that the 22-year-old is going to be more successful at Newcastle than he would have at Arsenal.
Others believe that if Arsenal had waited a bit, then they could have sold him for a much higher price to the new Newcastle owners, who are very rich indeed.
