Joe Willock and Harvey Elliott praised Bukayo Saka on Instagram after the Arsenal youngster was named London Football Awards Young Player of the Year.
As a team, Arsenal are in dire straits and they are searching for a shining light to take them out of their current darkness.
Saka is proving to be that light and at the age of, 19, it could be argued that he is Arsenal’s best player, which says a lot about the team and the talents in his boots.
Therefore, it isn’t a surprise that Saka picked up his first individual award of his career on Tuesday night when he was named London’s Young Player of the Year, beating the likes of Reece James, Emile Smith Rowe, Declan Rice and Mason Mount to that award, as posted by the Standard.
Fellow Arsenal academy product, Willock, who is currently channelling his inner-Frank Lampard at Newcastle, simply wrote on Saka’s Instagram ‘God’s work’.
Whilst another rising teenage star, in the form of Liverpool’s wonderkid, Harvey Elliott, also added ‘congratulations brother’.
Many other players, such as Gabriel Martinelli, Alexandre Lacazette, Alex Iwobi and Mat Ryan also sent their best wishes to the baby-faced teenager.
Now, Arsenal fans will be hoping Saka can conjure up all his qualities and unleash it on the man who handed him his debut – Unai Emery.
Arsenal are preparing for a crucial and season-defining Europa League clash against Villarreal on Thursday night, knowing a defeat will set them back for the second leg and only increase the heat in Mikel Arteta’s kitchen.
If Arteta gets knocked out at the hands of the man he replaced at the Emirates Stadium, then the writing might just end up being on the wall and he might not be the only North London boss given his marching orders this term.
