Joe Rogan has broken his silence after being overlooked at the Golden Globes.
The UFC commentator’s podcast has topped Spotify’s global charts for the past six years.
So, when the Golden Globes introduced a new best podcast category this year, Rogan was seen as a strong favourite to take home the first trophy.
But he wasn’t even among the six nominees, with Amy Poehler’s ‘Good Hang’ taking home the award. The winner was chosen by public vote from an original shortlist compiled by an independent panel of industry professionals.
Joe Rogan turns down $500 submission fee for Golden Globes

Joe Rogan has confirmed that he was invited to enter the nomination process for the Golden Globes’ best podcast category.
During Thursday’s episode of his podcast, the 58-year-old explained that he pulled out after being asked to pay a $500 submission fee.
“A lot of people say, ‘Why wasn’t Joe Rogan nominated for the Golden Globes? Why did Amy Poehler win?’ I didn’t submit,” Rogan told his comedian friend Bert Kreischer.
“They asked me to submit to be nominated for the Golden Globes, and you had to pay $500. And the $500 is like for paperwork or whatever. I said, ‘No.’”
Rogan also expressed why he doesn’t value awards handed out by industry groups.
“I don’t want to be a part of that. I don’t care. You’re just a group of people that just decide, all of a sudden, that you’re going to give an award out? ‘I get a trophy. F— off!”
Joe Rogan not on commentary team for UFC 325
Alongside his podcasting career, Joe Rogan is a familiar voice behind the microphone at UFC events.
He had plenty to say after watching Paddy Pimblett’s five-round battle with Justin Gaethje at UFC 324, joking that Pimblett’s chin should be ‘studied by science’.
This weekend, the promotion heads to Sydney, Australia, but Rogan won’t be making the trip. He typically doesn’t travel for international cards.
In his place, Michael Bisping will step in to join Daniel Cormier and Jon Anik on commentary. The main event features a featherweight title rematch between Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes.
Rogan is expected back behind the desk for UFC 326 in Las Vegas on March 7th.
