Joe Rodon has told BBC Sport that Tottenham striker Harry Kane is “world class” and just as good at finishing with his left foot, as he is with his right. The duo will do battle on Tuesday evening, as England take on Wales in Qatar.
Kane, 29, is yet to score for England at the World Cup and it has been hinted that he could be rested on Tuesday night. England are expected to go on and win Group B but as we have already seen at this World Cup, anything can happen.
Rodon though, will definitely start in what is likely to be a back three alongside Ben Davies and Chris Mepham. Wales have got to win to stand any chance of qualification, and hope USA and Iran draw. It seems very unlikely for the Welsh.
Rodon, who remains a Tottenham player but on loan at French side Rennes, spoke about Kane ahead of the game. He was full of praise for Kane, branding him a “world class” player. He also says Kane is good at finishing with both feet.
“Harry has been a top player for many years, one of the best in the world,” Rodon said. “He is a brilliant finisher, both feet as well. He has scored many goals and is a world-class striker. “We all know how good he is.”

Should Kane start? The argument is that Kane looks tired. He looks slightly off the pace and after the ankle knock he picked up in the 6-2 win over Iran, perhaps it would be a good idea to keep him wrapped up in cotton wool.
But, first place in the group is not sorted. If England finish second, then it will be a whole lot harder to get into the quarter-finals from the last 16. Gareth Southgate might start Kane, hope he gets the job done and then take him off.
