Joe Rodon has predicted Ben Davies will become a manager when the Tottenham defender retires – in a video on the North London club’s official YouTube. The duo are close friends, given they both play for Wales, too.
Only 28, Davies has proven to be a consistent and regular part of Antonio Conte’s side since the Italian replaced Nuno Espirito Santo at Tottenham. Joe Rodon, meanwhile, has fallen down the Spurs defensive pecking order.

Both are crucial for their country, with Davies already boasting a huge 70 caps. The duo combined to secure a crucial 2-1 win for Wales in a World Cup semi-final play-off against Austria last week – Gareth Bale scoring twice.
Speaking on Tottenham’s YouTube channel in a video entitled “Pals, with Ben & Joe”, Rodon claims that Davies will be a manager when he retires. The defender has already clocked up a huge 262 appearances for Spurs.
“He’s going to be a manager. He’s going to be a manager one day, I promise you. You heard it here first. Genuinely, he will be a manager, promise. I’ll be your head of recruitment,” Rodon told Tottenham’s YouTube channel.
Rodon on Davies: Tottenham star seemingly has managerial character
Davies is hardly in the top bracket of players at Tottenham. But what makes him a crucial part of the side is his work rate, consistency, tactical nous and decision making. It has seen him 18 of Conte’s 20 Premier League games.
The defender is also renowned at being somewhat intelligent off the pitch, having bagged himself a degree in business and economics. Davies is certainly showing required traits to be a manager when his career ends.
