Nottingham Forest winger Joe Lolley has jokingly said on Twitter that he is not in the latest England squad as he will make the team for the Euro 2020 finals.

England head coach Gareth Southgate has named his squad for upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Kosovo.

One Forest fan on Twitter has expressed her disappointment that Lolley has not been included in the squad.

The 26-year-old winger has responded to the message, joking that he has been rested for the Euro 2020 finals.

Future England call-up possible?

Lolley is clearly joking, but perhaps the Forest winger could earn a call-up to the England squad in the future.

True, the 26-year-old is going to find it tough to impress England manager Gareth Southgate playing in the Championship, but if Forest get promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season, then in the coming years the winger could get the chance to play for the Three Lions.

Lolley is one of the best attack-minded players in the Championship and is playing well for Forest.

According to WhoScored, the 26-year-old has scored one goal and provided one assist in four appearances in the Championship for Forest so far this season, while in 2018-19, he scored 11 goals and provided 11 assists in 46 league matches for the Reds.

According to The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 59, June 2, 2019), Villa wanted to sign Lolley from Forest in the summer of 2019, and the Reds wanted £15m as transfer fee for the 26-year-old (click here to read more).
