Aston Villa are said to be interested in signing the Nottingham Forest midfielder.

Joe Lolley of Notts Forest scores to make it 4-3 during the Sky Bet Championship match between Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest at Villa Park on November 28, 2018 in Birmingham, England.

Joe Lolley could be the perfect addition for Dean Smith at Aston Villa, if he arrives in the summer.

Villa are said to be interested in snapping up Lolly from Nottingham Forest for £12 million in The Sun.

And Smith could be the manager to get the very best out of Lolley, as he looks perfect for Villa’s system.

Lolley has come on leaps and bounds at Forest this season, with his creativity making him one of the standout players in the Championship.

At Villa, Lolley’s game could be taken to new heights though, as Smith’s tactics could be perfect for him.

Smith has promoted a very patient, passing approach – which would give Lolley a lot of creative licence in attacking areas.

Forest are likely to want to keep Lolley, but the playmaker is a Villa supporter, and Smith is reportedly prepared to invest heavily on him.

And if the deal does come off, it could be one of Villa’s most exciting transfers for years.
