Lolley, a boyhood Villa fan and reported B6 target who recently penned a new Forest contract, was asked about his favourite Reds memory by the club.

Nottingham Forest fans have endured a topsy-turvy 2019 but this week has brought good news as it was announced by the official club website that Joe Lolley had signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract at the City Ground.
The 26-year-old attacker, who joined the Reds from Huddersfield Town just over a year ago, has agreed to a deal which will keep him at the City Ground until the end of the 2022-23 season.
Lolley has been a sensation at Forest since his January 2018 switch, with 50 appearances for the club and 11 goals so far, including eight strikes from 35 appearances this season.
It’s little surprise then that his form and talent led to transfer rumours linking him to several clubs in the Premier League and second tier over the past few months, with January being particularly anxious for many Reds fans.
The likes of Crystal Palace, Watford, West Bromwich Albion (Daily Mail), Newcastle United and Fulham (Mirror) were reportedly interested in Lolley, while The Sun suggested that Aston Villa were looking at him in case Jack Grealish left in the summer.
Lolley is known to be an ardent Villa fan (one such mention in this Worcester News article) and some supporters of the West Midlands club still harbour hopes of the player switching to Villa Park in the coming years, perhaps even the summer, hoping the opportunity to play for his boyhood club may be too much to resist.

That said, his pick of favourite Forest memory certainly didn’t seem to have Villa at the forefront – he opted for his performance in the 5-5 draw in November last year, a game in which he scored a long-range rocket and registered four assists.
One Villa fan spotted this on Twitter and had a go at Lolley:
It could be argued that Lolley’s pick was pretty much a no-brainer in terms of his standout performance for Forest but at the same time, that he went for it despite being a display in which he tore his beloved club to shreds indicates that his allegiance – for the time being at least – is solely with the Reds.
