Tottenham Hotspur have angered fans this week with their idea to join the European Super League.
On Sunday night, Spurs confirmed after hours of speculation that they were planning to join the controversial Super League proposal.
The idea was met with outrage, as Tottenham fans were completely against the idea – just like Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United fans were.
Tottenham confirmed on Tuesday night that, less than 48 hours after signalling their intention to move, they are now pulling out of the competition – just like the rest of their Premier League rivals.
Club owners are now under huge pressure in light of this catastrophic idea, and Tottenham owner Joe Lewis is no different.
Daniel Levy may be the man most associated with Spurs, but it’s actually Lewis – who owns the ENIC Group, who in turns own Spurs – who is Tottenham’s main backer.

So just how much is Lewis worth? Well, the 84-year-old’s worth is estimated to be around £3.992bn, as noted in The Sunday Times’ 2020 Rich List.
Lewis subsequently ranks 34th in that list, and it’s hard to imagine many people being able to come along make him a tempting enough offer for Spurs.
Fans want change though, and it may take government intervention for Lewis to move on, with fans in no mood to forgive and forget right now.
