Tottenham Hotspur came away from the London Stadium with a 3-2 win over West Ham United.

Joe Hart has told West Ham’s official website that Tottenham will not have come away from their game at West Ham at the weekend believing that they had dominated the contest, and suggested that it was often mistakes rather than Spurs’ quality that cost them in the 3-2 defeat.
Slaven Bilic’s men suffered their fourth league defeat of the season after a brace from Harry Kane and another from Christian Eriksen saw Tottenham take a 3-0 lead inside the hour, before the Hammers fought back thanks to goals from Javier Hernandez and Cheikhou Kouyate.
There was no equaliser however as 10-man Spurs held on to move themselves into the top four. But Hart suggested that the Irons can take plenty of belief from the performance against one of the division’s better sides.
“I don’t think Spurs will feel they came here and pumped us. They’re one of the best teams in the league and we’ve given them a fight for the whole game,” he told the club’s official website.
“Whilst it was 0-0 I felt we were the stronger team. We’ve got to learn from our mistakes and if we learn from it it’s not a problem.”
Unfortunately for the Hammers, they have failed to get any kind of consistency or form going this season, with just one league victory to speak of and their two League Cup wins being immediately followed by defeats that have seen Hart concede on three occasions.
With a much more encouraging run of games ahead, Bilic’s side will know how important it is that they gain a number of positive results in quick succession before the pressure really begins to mount.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have continued their impressive recent form, having won four of their last five in all competitions, and will be hoping that that confidence will start to see them winning league games at Wembley and putting more pressure on the pace-setters in the division.
