Joe Hart has taken to Instagram to praise Tottenham stars Matt Doherty and Ben Davies after the duo scored in a 5-1 win over Newcastle. Spurs kept up their late push for fourth place, doing enough to sit in fourth overnight.
Indeed, the heavy win gave Spurs the goal swing they needed to climb ahead of Arsenal into fourth – the 5-1 win a sixth victory in eight league matches. Arsenal face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday night.
Fabian Schar opened the scoring with a free-kick that Hugo Lloris really should have saved. But Spurs remained patient and took Newcastle apart, equalising through Wales star Ben Davies – after a Son Heung-min cross.
A second came when Matt Doherty headed home, before Son made it three. Emerson Royal squeezed in a fourth and substitute Steven Bergwijn continued his goalscoring form during the break with a fifth for Spurs.
Having just helped Celtic place one hand on the Scottish Premiership title after beating Old Firm rivals Rangers at Ibrox, Hart took to Instagram to praise his two ex-Spurs teammates in Doherty and Davies for their goals.

Hart on Doherty, Davies: Tottenham duo crucial to Conte’s Spurs
When Conte arrived at Tottenham, the majority of Spurs fans would have expected Doherty to leave in January. Many also believed that while Davies was starting, it was because he is the club’s only left-footed centre-back.
But fast forward until now, and it is clear that Doherty is showing plenty of signs that he will be Conte’s version of Victor Moses – the player that sparkled in Conte’s 3-4-3 at Chelsea, despite being an outcast beforehand.
Similarly, Davies has gone from bench player to crucial. Spurs were expected to target a right wing-back and a left-sided centre-back in the summer – but do they really need them, given Davies and Doherty’s form?
