Joe Hart has stated on Instagram that he ‘loves it’ after Serge Aurier made it clear that he wouldn’t have joined ‘the enemy’ in Arsenal after leaving Tottenham.

On transfer deadline day, Spurs ripped up Aurier’s contract and there was talk about Arsenal possibly signing him up on a free.

But. the boyhood Gooner has dismissed that talk and sent this heartfelt message to Spurs fans, after joining Villarreal.

Celtic goalkeeper Hart, who worked with him at Hotspur Way, simply wrote: ‘Love it!! Good luck’.

Whilst Denis Cirkin added: ‘All the best bro’, a number of other Spurs players, such as Steven Bergwijn and Ryan Sessegnon reacted with emjois.

Even though Aurier, as a player, was a marmite-like figure with the Spurs fans, there is no doubt that this will make him more popular.

His error-prone ways would frustrate the life out of supporters because he had all the qualities in his locker, but was just becoming a liability.

Aurier had one-year left on his Spurs deal, so the call to part ways with the 28-year-old was the right one.

He would have been behind summer signing Emerson Royal, Japhet Tanganga and Matt Doherty in the right-back pecking order.

But the Ivory Coast star moves to Spain to join up with the Europa League champions, who are managed by ex-Arsenal boss Unai Emery.

Perhaps a league with less bite, aggression and intensity will help Aurier’s game because two of his former teammates, Erik Lamela and Juan Foyth, are certainly enjoying themselves out in Spain.
