West Ham United have failed to win any of David Moyes’ first three matches in charge.
Moyes promised that he would take a hardline stance at West Ham during his first press conference.
But Hart feels that the new Hammers boss is simply asking the squad to do the exact job they should be performing.
“Depends what you call tough. I call it getting what’s expected of players,” Hart said.
“Asking someone to train at 100% and asking someone to give more than they’re capable of going on a match day is not being tough in my eyes. It’s just asking someone to do their job.”
When Moyes took charge at West Ham he promised that he would be a much sterner leader than his predecessor, Slaven Bilic.
There was a feeling that Bilic was simply too relaxed on the training ground, and didn’t push West Ham’s players hard enough.
Moyes is yet to spark any improvement in West Ham, over the three matches he has taken charge of.
The Hammers have picked up just one point from games against Watford, Leicester City and Everton.
West Ham are now sat in the relegation zone, with concerns that they could drop into the Championship mounting.
