Joe Hart has once again taken to Instagram after Tottenham’s loss to Dinamo Zagreb, this time to apologise for what he put on his story on Thursday evening.
The goalkeeper made a rather serious gaffe after the game as his account posted a message saying ‘job done’, despite the fact Tottenham lost 3-0 and were knocked out of Europe.
As you can imagine, Hart felt a little embarrassed after seeing his social media team had made such an error, so he posted once again on Instagram explaining the situation.
“Morning guys, I feel like I need to come on and make an apology on behalf of my social media team. It’s just been brought to my attention, I’ve literally just woken up, but someone thought we won 3-0 last night. As sloppy as it sounds it’s the truth. It’s unacceptable and I’m sure it’s annoyed a lot of people and I’m sorry it’s come to that,” Hart says
“It’s obviously not come from me I’ve got nothing but love for the club and support for the team and I’m just as down as the boys are. So, apologies, unfortunately this happened, but just know it didn’t come from any other place than a typo.”
We’d assumed as much when we initially saw the post.
It’s amateurish from his management to make such an error, and while a few Spurs fans were up in arms about it, it’s clear that there was no malice in the message.
Hopefully, everyone can just move on from this incident, and perhaps Hart’s social media team will actually bother to watch Spurs’ games from now on.
