Pascal Struijk has drawn a line under speculation regarding his future at Leeds United.

On Wednesday evening, the Whites announced that the big defender had signed a new contract at Elland Road.

The 23-year-old is now contracted to Leeds until the year 2027 in what is a massive boost for both Jesse Marsch’s team and, of course, the player himself.

Struijk has been probably United’s most consistent performer in what’s been a very mixed season for Marsch’s troops so far.

There’s been some major victories – Chelsea at home and Liverpool away, for instance – but the games that Leeds would’ve been favourites to win, have been lost a lot of the time.

The Belgium-born powerhouse reacted on Instagram to signing the new deal yesterday. Here’s what he posted:

A number of Leeds players responded to the towering centre-back, including Joe Gelhardt.

In response, Joffy wrote: “Congrats big man.”

Leeds have quite an ominous first Premier League game back.

Marsch’s side host Manchester City on December 28 and suffice to say Elland Road will be absolutely rocking.

Those in West Yorkshire are mad about football and the World Cup break will have whet their appetitte for domestic football again.

The better the opponent, the better the energy will be at Elland Road and despite their shaky form, you really wouldn’t back against Leeds.
