Leeds United have confirmed that Max Dean has left the club.
The Whites’ academy prospect has quit Thorp Arch to join League One outfit MK Dons, as announced by the Premier League club.
Dean managed a debut under Marcelo Bielsa in 2021 but never made a competitive appearance for the senior side.
The 18-year-old issued a heartfelt Instagram message to Leeds on Thursday evening following the announcement.
Here’s what he posted on social media:

He wrote in response: “Smash it lad“, followed by a love heart emoji.
The teenager, who turns 19 in February, can play up front or on either wing and it’ll be fascinating to see how he fares down in League One.
It’s a smart move by Dean himself because although he’ll no doubt aspire to play in the Premier League one day, a couple of years in the lower leagues, at his age, will be a wonderful education for him.
He was already a regular for Leeds at Under-21 level, but senior football is another kettle of fish entirely and it could well be the making of him, this MK Dons stint.
