Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers won 2-1 against Partick in their last match.

Glasgow Rangers striker Joe Garner has told the Daily Mail that he believes that the Ibrox side will improve their fitness levels under Pedro Caixinha.

Caixinha has reduced Rangers’ players time off, since taking over Mark Warburton.

And Garner has suggested that, after pre-season, the Portuguese boss’s impact will be clear.

“The gaffer and his ways are a little bit different from the old gaffer and I think it’s going to take a little bit of time to adjust for all the lads,” Garner said.

“Hopefully the manager can get the best out of me. I have been working hard, as have all the lads, since he has been in.

“I think we will be a little bit fitter next year than we have been. It will take a bit of time to buy into what he wants. It is a little bit of change for everyone at the club. But we look forward to it.”

Caixinha has had mixed success in charge of Rangers so far.

Rangers have been heavily beaten twice by Celtic since Caixinha took charge, which has caused some concern.

However, the 46-year-old boss is unbeaten in matches which haven’t come against Rangers’ Glasgow rivals.

Rangers’ most recent victory came against Partick, with Garner’s last minute winner providing the Light Blues with the three points.

Rangers are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Hearts at Ibrox.
