The striker left Preston North End for Rangers this summer. The Glasgow club paid around £1.8 million for the player, as reported by Sky Sports, a fee that Leeds could have been able to stretch to on their current budget.
The hard-working and talented striker may not have scored many goals for Preston last season, just six in 44 appearances to be precise – but scored 27 the season previous and has undoubted ability.

He is the sort of player Leeds need up top and he would have thrived under the pressure of playing at Elland Road.
At their price range Leeds could not have done much better but Garner has headed to Scotland instead – in what should be considered a missed opportunity.
