Joe Cole has told BT Sport that Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney came out after full-time and practiced his crossing.

Tierney actually came on for Arsenal in their 3-1 win over West Bromwich Albion.

However, the left-back clearly didn’t feel that he had got enough practice in the final third during the game.

Tierney instead wanted to warm-down after the Arsenal players had listened to Mikel Arteta’s full time team-talk.

And Cole was very impressed by the Scot’s attitude.

He said: “Just a quick mention, Tierney came out after he’d played 30 minutes and was practicing his crossing.

“We have talked about characters that Arsenal need. A lot of the Arsenal fans have been calling for him to be a captain of this club and to do that when you’re coming back from injury shows that he has his finger on the pulse and has a desire to do well for this football club.”

Tierney has been one of the few Arsenal players to come out of this season was a great deal of credit.

The former Celtic man may have missed a chunk of the season with injury, but his passion and energy has always been clear.

Tierney’s Arsenal teammates have not always shown the same level of drive and professionalism as him.

And if Arteta is to be successful in the future he will surely be counting on Tierney to be part of his Arsenal team for the years ahead.
