Joe Cole has told 90min that Chelsea star Timo Werner can hurt Manchester City tonight.
The former Chelsea star believes that Werner is an intelligent player and can create problems for City.
City will take on Premier League rivals Chelsea in the final of the Champions League tonight.
Cole told 90min: “Timo Werner is all wrong for the way Pep plays, no system is impenetrable.
“Pep plays a certain way and if you get it right and get a player as explosive as Timo, as intelligent as him making runs you are going to get space at some point in the game. He is the player to hurt them.”
Werner has not had the best of times in the Premier League this season, but the Germany international forward is a very good player.
The 25-year-old is quick and stretches teams, and the Germany international could be a problem for the City defence tonight.
It will be interesting to see if Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel plays Werner as a central striker.
The forward has made 29 starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League for Chelsea this season.
Werner scored six goals and gave eight assists in those games.
Werner also scored six goals and gave two assists in the Champions League for Chelsea this campaign.
Chelsea have not been getting good results in recent weeks, and City do have the better squad.
However, in a final, anything is possible.
Moreover, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel will be determined to get it right in the final this time around, after losing with Paris Saint-Germain last season.
