Joe Cole has claimed that watching Jacob Ramsey play is like ‘poetry in motion’ after Aston Villa’s 3-3 draw against Leeds United, as he told BT Sport.

The 20-year-old netted a brace in the Premier League on Wednesday night and Cole thinks a ‘star is born’.

Ever since Steven Gerrard arrived on the Premier League scene as a manager, Ramsey has transformed his game and taken it up a notch.

Whether it’s the fearlness nature in which he runs at oppositon players, his ball-carrying ability, the speed in his game, ability to strike with either foot or his composure in front of goal.

It’s all showcasing its magic on the Premier League stage and there is no stopping his talent, at this moment in time.

During Cole’s playing days, he was a highly-rated youngster and a lot of expectation were on his shoulders.

That’s what is happening to Ramsey now, although Cole shared why the boyhood Villa fan has ‘effectivley come from nowhere’.

“This man here, a star is born,” said Cole. “He is poetry in motion when you watch him run. He’s powerful, strong and positive. And a great finish.

“Jacob Ramsey has effectively come from nowhere for Premier League viewers because you have so many of them.

“You have Jude Bellingham and all of these great players. Stevie (Gerrard) was clever there. Des (BT reporter) tried to liken him to Stevie and he just put the pressure off him by saying ‘he is his own man’.

“Even Stevie is excited and, at times, that takes a little bit to get him excited.”

Selling Jack Grealish for £100 million and replacing him with Ramsey is starting to work in Villa’s favour.

Not only is Ramsey outscoring the Manchester City man this season, but at this stage, he is further ahead than where Grealish was at 20.

Back then, Grealish was still trying to make a name for himself in England’s second-tier.

Meanwhile, Ramsey is balling in England’s top-tier and he will only get better and better as the season wears on.
