Tottenham are in a mini slump ahead of this weekend’s North London derby against Arsenal.

Spurs have lost their last two games in a row, beaten 2-0 by Chelsea last night.

Arsenal beat Southampton 5-1, closing the gap on Tottenham to just four points.

BT Sport pundit Joe Cole, former Chelsea title winner, was asked to pick his winner of this weekend’s match.

He feels the Gunners’ momentum will give Arsenal the win.

Cole told BT Sport’s live coverage: “I fancy Arsenal I have got to say. This Tottenham side have just been criticised by their manager and are making silly mistakes. I really fancy Arsenal.”

Co-pundit Jermaine Jenas, former Tottenham star, did not offer a prediction, but said that the match gives Tottenham an opportunity to put right their defeat last night, and hopes this will help motivate them.

Jenas said: “The swing is from a possible one point [gap] to seven. It’s in their hands.

“Today wasn’t the type of situation here where Chelsea smashed them all over park, a couple of mistakes gave it away.

“This weekend is opportunity to make that gap what it was before.”

Tottenham had been 10 points ahead of Arsenal a fortnight ago. Now it is remarkable that a win for Arsenal at Wembley could reduce the gap to just one.
