The Stoke City midfielder showed the Swans what they were missing against Moldova.

The impressive display of Stoke City midfielder Joe Allen in Wales’ 4-0 win against Moldova came much to the annoyance of Swansea City supporters.
The Carmarthen native rose through the Welsh club’s academy ranks and helped them to two promotions before being signed by Liverpool in 2012.

However, despite Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins admitting his interest in bringing Allen home during the summer transfer window (Wales Online), the 26-year-old moved to Stoke instead – linking up with ex-Dragons boss Mark Hughes in the Potteries.

And while Jacks fans may have put it to the back of their minds in the first few weeks of the Premier League season – with their club six places higher than Stoke in the standings – Allen’s latest national team display showed them exactly what they are missing.
The midfielder ran the show in Cardiff, even outscoring double marksman Gareth Bale in some media outlets (Wales Online), and bagged his first goal for his country to boot – at the 32nd time of asking.

Here is how the Swansea supporters reacted on Twitter…
