Jody Morris is gutted for Mauricio Pochettino at the prospect of Chelsea losing striker Armando Broja during the January transfer window.
Sources have told HITC Football that the 22-year-old doesn’t have a long-term future at the club.
Armando Broja started Chelsea’s demolition job of Middlesbrough on Tuesday night as Mauricio Pochettino guided his team to the League Cup final.
Jody Morris questioned why the Chelsea boss would want to lose such a player and how it could seemingly be out of his hands, as he told The Transfer Show on Sky Sports.
As of this moment, Armando Broja is the starting number nine at Stamford Bridge and you would expect him to take that role once again against Aston Villa on Friday night in the FA Cup.
But, of course, in this crazy world of football, he could be heading for the exit door by then, with a number of Premier League clubs keen on his talents.
If this has to do with finances, then Jody Morris is gutted at the Albania star’s possible exit because it is now going to make the team ‘weaker’.
Armando Broja’s future at Chelsea
“From a fan perspective, I never want to see home-grown players go out of the door,” said Morris.
“I don’t know the financial implications, but speaking from what Mauricio said regarding the players. If you are a head coach, then why would you want to lose players that potentially is your starting number nine, so you wouldn’t want to lose any players.
“I think there are a lot of factors going into Armando. Whether he gets sold or not – I think it will be harsh to judge him in the long term straightaway.
“But when you have interest from other clubs and when there are maybe financial implications, then who knows what can happen. Speaking as a fan, and a little similar to the manager there, you don’t want to lose any of the players, which in turn makes you weaker, unless you bring somebody else in.”

Chelsea should keep Armando Broja
Go back to Tammy Abraham. Chelsea did the same with their academy back star back then and he went on to prove them wrong at Roma.
In the past 12 months, he has had injury issues, so he hasn’t been able to rub it into the faces of Chelsea even more.
But the former Aston Villa loanee proved to be a better player than Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku at Chelsea. Yet they were signed after him and to replace him.
In years to come, Chelsea will also regret letting Broja go because he too will prove them wrong, just like Abraham.
