Suffering relegation was very hard to take for Leeds United last season, but one major positive out of it all is youngster, Archie Gray.
If Leeds United didn’t drop into England’s second tier, then you would assume the versatile star wouldn’t have earned the minutes and starts he has done during this campaign.
The 17-year-old has been incredible under Daniel Farke’s stewardship and to the delight of the Leeds United fans he signed a new contract on Tuesday at Elland Road.
The promotion-chasing side posted via their official website that Archie Gray has now agreed to ‘fresh terms’ by ‘committing his long-term future’.
When the Leeds academy product reacted to that news on Instagram, he was lauded and applauded in the comments section, including by Jobe Bellingham and others.
The Sunderland star labelled it ‘class’, whilst Joe Rodon called him a ‘star boy’ and Stuart Dallas added: ‘love it, Archie’.
Archie Gray’s message to Leeds United fans
“Delighted to sign a new deal at my boyhood club,” wrote Gray. “Excited for the future! MOT.”
Archie Gray heading to the Premier League
Whether it’s in the colours of Leeds, and he will be hoping so, or with another team, it won’t be too long before Gray is in the Premier League – he has already been scouted by the likes of Arsenal.
The great thing for the fans is that he is only 17, so he doesn’t need to rush himself and he can spend many years in England’s second tier.
All of this early exposure is going to do him the world of good, as Gray is showcasing incredible quality and versatility at such a young age.
From his 25 games this season, 15 of those have come at right-back, whilst the rest have been played in the middle of the park.
