Joao Sacramento left Tottenham last year and is now being lined up for a shock move to join the Paris Saint-Germain coaching staff.
Many were stunned when Tottenham sacked Jose Mourinho just days before the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City last year.
Few clubs make a managerial change in the same week as a cup final, and Tottenham ended up with Ryan Mason in charge against City.
Mourinho’s entire coaching staff were let go too, which meant assistant coach Joao Sacramento was ditched as well.
Joao Sacramento left Tottenham last year
Sacramento had been on the Lille coaching staff under Christophe Galtier before Mourinho pounced to land his fellow Portuguese coach.
Mourinho seemingly felt that Sacramento was a bright young coach and worth bringing to Tottenham.
Sacramento wasn’t all that popular at Tottenham though and Serge Aurier publicly stated that he was the reason for Tottenham’s dressing room issues.
The Athletic have added that Sacramento lacked the emotional intelligence to cope with Premier League stars and was just as unpopular as Mourinho.
That didn’t stop Mourinho taking Sacramento to Roma with him last summer though, again giving him a key spot on his coaching staff.

Sacramento left in January though in order to chase a managerial job of his own.
The 33-year-old seemingly isn’t going down that path after all though because he is now set to reunite with Galtier.
Foot Mercato report that Nice boss Galtier is set to become the new Paris Saint-Germain boss and will make Sacramento his assistant once again.
That may surprise some Tottenham fans and even players after he left North London with his reputation somewhat damaged.
Still, Sacramento is a young coach and has plenty of time to learn from his mistakes. Galtier clearly feels that he can make a positive impact at PSG and the former Tottenham man could soon be coaching the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi.
