Sheffield Wednesday host Brentford in the Championship on Tuesday.

Sheffield Wednesday's Fernando Forestieri

Fernando Forestieri could replace Lucas Joao in Sheffield Wednesday’s attack when Brentford visit Hillsborough on Tuesday evening.

Forestieri missed the 3-1 win against Swansea on Saturday through suspension, but impressed in his previous outing against Rotherham and appeared to be returning to form following injury.

Joao, meanwhile, has struggled since his own return from a lay-off, and was substituted before the hour mark in each of his last two outings.

Barring any unforeseen injuries, Forestieri for Joao is likely to be the only change made by Steve Bruce for Wednesday’s final fixture before the visit of Sheffield United next Monday.

Sheffield Wednesday's Lucas Joao

The Owls could, however, have George Boyd and Morgan Fox back in the 18 following illness and a knock respectively – although, given the impressive performances of Rolando Aarons and Achraf Lazaar on their full debuts on loan from Newcastle United, the former pair may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Daniel Pudil and Sam Winnall missed the Sheffield Wednesday Under-23s’ defeat against Birmingham on Monday, and could be among the substitutes.
