The West Ham United midfielder raved about the club’s supporters.
West Ham ace Joao Mario spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s excellent 2-0 win over Leicester City yesterday, and offered high words of praise for the club’s supporters, labelling them as ‘amazing’, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Hammers all but secured their Premier League status for another season with yesterday’s win, and some of the football that they played left their fans wondering why on earth they are even in the position that they currently find themselves in.
David Moyes’ side were at their very best from the first whistle yesterday, and if they can match that quality over their last two Premier League games, the Scot will surely have every chance of earning a permanent deal in charge of the club.
Mario, who joined West Ham on loan from Inter Milan in January, raved about the travelling support at the King Power Stadium yesterday, when speaking to reporters, labelling the Hammers fans as ‘amazing’, as quoted by the club’s official website:
“It was amazing. Their support for us was amazing and it means everything, so we have to say ‘Thank you’ to them because the atmosphere they created was fantastic.”
The Hammers finish their season with home games against Manchester United and Everton respectively, and if they replicate the performance that they showed against the Foxes, they have every chance of finishing the season with two wins that could see them jump up inside the top 10.
