Joao Cancelo has kept the door open to making a return to Man City, while touching on how a relationship breakdown with Pep Guardiola is not why left the club to join Bayern Munich on loan, which includes an option to buy worth £62 million.
However, the Daily Mail had recently reported that after a training ground bust-up with the Spanish boss, a temporary exit from the Etihad Stadium was sanctioned for the Portuguese full-back.
But Joao Cancelo has confirmed that it is now due to any personal issues with Pep Guardiola that he decided to sign for Bayern on loan instead of remaining at Man City.

In fact, various suggestions have indicated that the pair had altercations behind-the-scenes, as the two-time Premier League champion was disappointed at being benched following the World Cup.
Considering Nathan Ake, a centre-back by trade has taken his place at left-back, while academy graduate Rico Lewis seems to be preferred at right-back, it has been widely reported that the ex-Juventus sensation was growing increasingly frustrated.

But in his first press conference since joining Bayern Munich on loan, Joao Cancelo has poured water over the reports that internal problems with Pep Guardiola forced him to find the exit door.

“The video (on Instagram) may sound like a farewell, but it wasn’t meant that way. We have to see what these five months will bring, I want to be here with a clear head. We will then talk about it again at the end of the season.”
“But I’m still under contract with Manchester City. I don’t see it as a final departure from the club.”
“It has nothing to do with my relationship with Pep [Guardiola]. I really wanted to embark on this new adventure at such a club with such a big history. It’s a dream for me”, said Joao Cancelo, as relayed by the Mirror.
Ultimately, it seems unlikely that Cancelo and Guardiola will see work together once again at Man City, even if his loan stint at Bayern does not go according to plan.
