Crystal Palace are now leading Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Joachim Andersen, according to The Telegraph.
What’s the story?
It is being reported this morning that Palace have moved to the front of the queue to sign Andersen from Lyon this summer.
Palace are now considered as favourites to sign the 25-year-old Denmark international, who is of interest to London and Premier League rivals Tottenham as well.
Spurs have been looking at the defender, but the North London club are now focused on Cristian Romero and Takehiro Tomiyasu of Atalanta and Bologna respectively.
Good signing for Crystal Palace?
Andersen did well for Fulham during his loan spell last season and stood out in a team that eventually got relegated from the Premier League.
The 25-year-old scored one goal and gave one assist in 31 Premier League games for the Cottagers.

Eurosport reported in April 2021 that Tottenham have been tracking the defender for three years, and that the North London club ‘are now completely convinced of his attributes’.
Spurs seem to have moved on from him now, but the fact that they scouted the Dane for so long and were linked this summer suggests that they do rate him.
If Andersen is good enough for Spurs, then he is surely good enough for Palace.
