Tottenham youngster J’Neil Bennett became the first scorer at the club’s new stadium.

Teenager prospect J’Neil Bennett became the first goalscorer at the club’s new stadium yesterday.
Bennett netted the opening strike in a 3-1 victory for Tottenham’s under-18 side against Southampton.
His goal was followed by strikes from teammates Harvey White and Dilan Markanday.
Bennett’s opener is the one which will be remembered as a milestone, one for football historians and pub quizzes.
The 17-year-old has been the subject of many headlines and well wishes from Tottenham fans as a result of his goal.

He sent a message out on Twitter to issue his thanks to supporters.
Bennett’s goal and all of this attention will act as inspiration for him over the next couple of seasons.
He must work hard to make the step up to Tottenham’s under-23 side, and then breaking into the first team is a different challenge altogether.
If it all goes to plan, he will be scoring plenty more goals in the stadium in the future.
