Mark Hughes’ men defeated Swansea City on Monday evening to climb to 12 in the Premier League table, completing the recovery of their poor start to the campaign.
Stoke took with their first corner of the match and it proved to be a nightmare scenario for Swansea City fans on Halloween. Swansea academy graduate Joe Allen set up former striker Wilfried Bony to thump home and put the Potters in front.
Swansea equalised shortly after when Wayne Routledge showed strength in the box to head home from Gylfi Sigurdsson’s cross from close range.
Stoke re-took the lead just ten minutes into the second half when Alfie Mawson was unfortunate to deflect the ball into his own net.
Ramadan Sobhy made easy work of beating Angel Rangel at the near post before delivering a dangerous ball which deflected off Mawson into Fabianksi’s net.
It got even worse for Swansea when Joe Allen surged through the Swans back-line to set up Wilfried Bony after his initial effort was kept out.
The goal capping a miserable Halloween for Swansea City as they gifted another fine win to their opponents.
