JJ Redick likened the LA Lakers to the Monstars from Space Jam, and not in a good way.

LA Lakers head coach JJ Redick is known to be harsh with his players whenever they lose a game in a bad way.

But few would have expected him to compare them to characters from Michael Jordan’s iconic 1996 film, Space Jam.

JJ Redick says LA Lakers played like Monstars from Space Jam

Speaking after the game, JJ Redick shared his confusion over how the LA Lakers played against the Phoenix Suns.

He compared their disappointing outing to how NBA players played in the movie Space Jam when they were taken over by the Monstars.

“It’s like the Monstars taking over the people that you’ve grown to coach, and they’re not doing anything that they normally do. It’s weird.”

While fans might think this is a hilarious quote from Redick, people who watched the movie know just how crushing a comparison he just made for his players.

LA Lakers cannot let Phoenix Suns loss stifle their momentum

The Los Angeles Lakers were on a 7-game winning streak coming into the game against the Phoenix Suns.

However, all of their strong performances looked like a distant memory during the game, as the Lakers struggled on the offensive end.

It’s best if the Lakers learn from their mistakes, write off this loss, and try to bounce back in their next game against the Toronto Raptors.

The last thing the Lakers need is to go on a losing streak that squanders their strong start to this season.
