Tottenham’s Harry Winks speaks about his happiness in being compared to Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta by manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Winks was happy about the claim: “That’s news to me, I haven’t been told that but….it’s not a bad title to have!”
Whilst it is undeniably a massive tag to live up to, the similarities in style of play are plain to see. Winks is a player who revels in having possession of the ball – his low centre of gravity and quick feet alongside an eye for a pass are the foundations of Iniesta’s game too.
Winks, however, still distances himself from that acclaim: “I can only go off what I am like as a player. And I would say I am myself, I can’t really compare myself to anyone else.”

The 21-year-old made his Spurs breakthrough last season, featuring 21 times in the Premier League for the North-London side.
Unfortunately, Winks suffered an injury towards the latter stages of last season, limiting his playing time. He is undoubtedly set to play an increasingly big role as Pochettino’s Tottenham team seek to claim that elusive Premier League crown.
