Jimmy Shan was impressed by Sam Johnstone and Kieran Dowell after attending West Bromwich Albion’s draw with Derby County.

Jimmy Shan has taken to Twitter to suggest that he was impressed by both Sam Johnstone and Everton loanee Kieran Dowell after attending West Brom’s draw with Derby County on Saturday.
For the second game running, Slaven Bilic’s men were 1-0 down until they were awarded a late penalty. Once again, Kenneth Zohore stepped up and found the back of the net to ensure that the points were shared.
It was a controversial game at Pride Park. Derby broke the deadlock early on when Martyn Waghorn scored from 12 yards after the striker had been brought down inside the area by Kieran Gibbs.
But then the officials’ afternoon took a turn for the worse. Waghorn was given the chance to double the Rams’ lead from the spot after Filip Krovinovic was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box. Replays however, showed that the ball hit the West Brom man’s shoulder.

However, West Brom did not lose out as Johnstone produced an outstanding save to deny Waghorn. And they would then benefit from a contentious decision as Matheus Pereira appeared to dive to win the visitors their own penalty.
But former Baggies boss Shan appeared to be in favour of focusing on the strong performances that he saw rather than the poor refereeing display and he picked out two players who caught his eye, with the Toffees-owned youngster proving to be one of those who impressed.

Here is how Shan reacted to Derby’s draw with West Brom…
